Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
THE RAPTURE
1. The word "rapture" does not appear anywhere in the Bible.
2. Neither does "advent," millennium," "Trinity," "Sunday School," "Bible
Institutes," "Vacation Bible School," nor a dozen others, but that does not
mean that they are anti-scriptural.
3. Some RELIGIOUS words not appearing in the Bible are anti-scriptural, such as
"archbishop," "Pope," "purgatory," "novenas," "rosary," and "bingo."
4. The determining factor is not, "Does the word appear in the Bible?"
5. The determining factor is, "Does the thing or the word contradict the clear
teaching of the New Testament at any point?"
6. "Purgatory" is a blasphemous fable built on the idea that Christ's blood is
unable to cleanse you of all your sins in this life.
HE 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his
person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had BY HIMSELF
PURGED OUR SINS, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
HE 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit
offered himself withour spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to
serve the living God?
1JN 1:7 ...and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanseth us from ALL sin.
7. "Archbishops" are one rank higher than Jesus Christ who only attained the
title of "Bishop."
1 PE 2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the
Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
8. Obviously, such things are pagan travesties of the truth.
9. We come now to the term used to describe the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ
FOR His saints.
1TH 4:13-18
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are
asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which
sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive
remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of
the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise
first:
17 Then we which are alive remain shall be caught up together with them in
the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
10. The term chosen was "RAPTURE."
11. Dictionary definition: A transcendental feeling or inspiration which
carries someone beyond the realms of normal perception or reality.
12. Music could rapture one or one could be held in rapture by the beauty of an
object.
13. "Rapturous" would be the nature of any activity that took one "out of
oneself," so to speak.
14. In 2Corinthians 12:1-5, we have it described LITERALLY.

12 IT is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and
revelations of the Lord.
2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot
tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught
up to the third heaven.
3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell:
God knoweth;)
4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it
is not lawful for a man to utter.
5 Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine
infirmities.
15. It is described LITERALLY again in Ezekiel 37:1

37 THE hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the
LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which full of bones,
16. And again in Revelation 4:1,2.

4 AFTER this I looked, and, behold, a door opened in heaven: and the first
voice which I heard as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said,
Come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter.
2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven,
and sat on the throne.
17. And again in 2Kings 2:11,12.

11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold,
a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder;
and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12 And Elisha saw , and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of
Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his
own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
18. Enoch was "raptured" 2000 years before John the Baptist was born.

21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and
begat sons and daughters:
23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24 And Enoch walked with God: and he not; for God took him.
19. There is nothing "new" about "raptures."
20. Unsaved scholars are in the dark regarding these matters, and when it comes
to space travel, they don't have any idea of what's going on.
21. There were 7 successful trips to outer space before Christopher Columbus
came along, and they stopped nowhere in this solar system or any galaxy like
it.

no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.
7 And Moses an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not
dim, nor his natural force abated.
JUDE 9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed
about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but
said, The Lord rebuke thee.
MT 17:1-3
17 AND after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and
bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his
raiment was white as the light.
3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
e. The Lord Jesus Christ made the trip in a couple of hours.
JN 20:17
17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father:
but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your
Father; and to my God, and your God.

9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All
hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
22. Save Houston Space Control and Star Wars for the kiddies. When you grow up,
remember--

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as
a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
23. So the Christian doctrine of the Rapture is not some novel "cultish"
teaching. It is odd and novel only to Bible rejecting Christians and Bible
rejecting lost folk, but it is not new to a 10 year old who has attended
Vacation Bible School in a "real" Baptist church.
24. In the last twenty years or so, there has grown up in America a peculiar
group of Christians whom we might call:
"THE QUITTERS"
1. Most of them are Conservatives or Fundamentalists.
2. The most peculiar thing about this group is the fact that they accuse their
brethren of being "the quitters" if those brethren are waiting for the "Lord
from Heaven" and are continually "loving His appearing,"--

6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord,
the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all
them also that love his appearing.
9 Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:
and expecting it at any moment---
1JN 3:1-3
3 BEHOLD, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be
called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him
not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall
be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall
see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
3. "The quitters" have adopted a pious platform to cover up their unbelief. I
will briefly outline this position so you will recognize it when it shows
up.
A. Christians should not be looking for an "easy way out" (a rapture)
since they don't have it easy in Communist countries. Communist
countries are not Christian, nor have ever claimed to be, nor have they
spent any time in the Bible. The Supreme Court of the United States
declared the USA to be a Christian country in 1891. Also, this country
has been a friend to the Jews, which Communist countries have not. "I
will bless them that bless thee."
B. Christians can expect to go through the Great Tribulation or at least
part of it on the grounds that individual, personal tribulation in 2TH
1:4,6 is really the same thing as Daniel's 70th Week, the time of
"Jacob's Troubles."
2TH 1:4-6
4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and
faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that
trouble you;
C. The following is the time of Jacob's Troubles."
JE 30:7
7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of
Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

D. Daniel's 70th Week is a term used to describe the Biblical outlay of
history into a period of 69x7 years between the decree to rebuild
Jerusalem and the first Advent of Christ. This leaves a left-over
period of 1x7 years between the catching out of the saints and the
Second Advent of Christ. The "week" in this case is a period of 7
years. You can check this out by studying Eze 4:5,6 and Num. 14:34.
EZE 4:5-6
5 For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number
of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of
the house of Israel.
6 And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou
shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee
each day for a year.
NU 14:34
34 After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days,
each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, forty years, and ye
shall know my breach of promise.
E. Since Christians will go through the Tribulation (or some part of it)
they are no longer to be looking for the personal appearance of Jesus
Christ. They are to quit looking for Him and instead look for rat-
control bills, anti-abortion bills, the mark of the beast, the checking
of Communism, the promotion of Christian Day Schools, and life,
liberty, and the pursuit of happiness with social justice for all
oppressed minorities.
F. In short, the "quitters" have become POLITICAL ACTIVISTS to make the
world a better place to live in. They are going to clean up the
Prodigal's hogpen so he won't have to go home to the Father.
G. Some of the "quitters" are post-millennialists, but some of the
"quitters" profess to be pre-millennial; their position is that
although we cannot bring in the Kingdom without Christ's return, we are
to exert the utmost effort to do so in "fighting the good fight of
faith" and quit looking for the eminent return of the Head of the Body.
COL 1:17-18
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the
firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
H. Instead, we are to pitch in and restore "Christianity" to America by
political means. (Soul winning is rarely discussed by this group of
individuals and "HELL" is a small footnote at the bottom of 400-500
pages of literature which never give precedence to anything invisible;
New Jerusalem, angels, demons, Satan, heaven, hell, etc.)
I. This modern form of pre-millennialism is actually secularized
naturalism; it deals only with what can be seen, felt, tasted, smelled,
or heard. It has no supernatural roots.
J. Watchwrods are COPING, INVOLVEMENT, SHARING, PROGRAMMING, TOTAL
THRUSTS, IN DEPTH, ACTIVISM, LIFE STYLES, VALUES, ETC.
K. The idea is basic: the church's commission (Acts 1:8, Matthew 28:19-20)
is NOT to get unsaved men regenerated so they can get to New Jerusalem.
The Commission is to "reconcile" schools, labor unions, political
parties, nations, factories, churches, races and individuals to EACH
OTHER so they can get rid of crime and nuclear war.
L. The basis for this secularized naturalism is 2Co 5:18-19, removed from
the context.
2CO 5:18-19
18 And all things of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus
Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not
imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of
reconciliation.
M. This was done by the Presbyterian Church, nationally, as far back as
1960.
N. The Campbellites, Holiness, Charasmatics, 7th Day Adventists, and other
groups which have no eternal security have picked this up and run with
it, determined to go through the Tribulation to prove their loyalty by
perservering, so that they may eat of the tree of life (eternal life
is in Christ Jesus and anyone who is in Him has eternal life without
needing the fruit of any tree).
O. Even Baptists have gotten into this thing which was started by Saint?
Augustine in his work, "City of God" and is Catholic in origin.
P. Now aside from the fact that not one Apostle ever got involved in any
social movements that involved racial equality, social justice,
affirmative action, distribution of tax money or international war or
peace, is the glaring fact that every dispensation in the Bible from
Genesis 3 to Revelation 20 ends in COLLAPSE. The Bible picture of
man's history is negative. The Bible picture of man is negative. The
Bible picture of nations is negative--
IS 40:15-17
15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small
dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
16 And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for
a burnt offering.
17 All nations before him as nothing; and they are counted to him less than
nothing, and vanity.
JE 46:28
28 Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I
will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will
not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave
thee wholly unpunished.
JL 3:9-17
9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let
all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears: let the
weak say, I am strong.
11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together
round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.
12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for
there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the
press is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is
near in the valley of decision.
15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their
shining.
16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and
the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his
people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy
mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through
her any more.
--and no positive note is established permanently for nations until
Revelation 21 and 22.
Q. Apart from the regenerating power of the Holy spirit in this age, on
the individual--

2 AND you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according
to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the
children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our
flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature
the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by
grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places
in Christ Jesus:
COL 2:11-15
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in
putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the
faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he
quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was
contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly,
triumphing over them in it.
RO 8:14-16
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have
received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of
God:
--the picture is absolutely NEGATIVE--
RO 1:21-29
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified not as God, neither
were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was
darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to
corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own
hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the
creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did
change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in
their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and
receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave
them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness,
maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

R. "Social justice" at the end of this century, in the Bible, is a great
big JOKE. READ Revelation 13.
S. Moral integrity is a FARCE.
2TI 3:1-7
3 THIS know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce,
despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women
laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
T. And PEACE is just too funny for words: AT LEAST THREE WORLD WARS ARE
COMING UP--
RE 6:4
4 And there went out another horse red: and was given to him
that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one
another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
RE 19:19
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered
together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
RE 20:8
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the
earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as
the sand of the sea.
--With a few hundred million getting killed in between them (RE
6,7,8,9,10.
U. The power of the Holy Spirit for our modern "quitters" is not soul-
winning power.

8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the
people, and elders of Israel,
V. To speak the word boldly--
AC 4:31
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled
together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word
of God with boldness.
W. --as we ought to speak.
EP 6:19
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth
boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
X. On the contrary, this power is looked upon as a power to overcome the
Devil as he shows up in the Senate and Congress, on the CFR committees,
the Illuminati, the High School textbooks, the telecasts, rock
concerts, and the "Temptation of Christ."
Y. REGENERATION OF THE LOST SINNER IS NOT THE FIRST CONSIDERATION, OR EVEN
THE SECOND OR THIRD.
Z. Communism is the greatest threat to the world and Christianity is the
greatest enemy of Communism.
4. As the end draws near (and that is what the book of Revelation and the book
of Daniel are about) the Body of Christ in America is slowly but surely
being "ruptured" instead of raptured. It all goes back to the rejection of
the KJ Authorized Version of 1611 as the final authority.
5. One group believes that the Lord Jesus christ may come at any moment and
when He does He will CALL--
PS 50:4-5
4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge
his people.
5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by
sacrifice.
6. From heaven (the 1st heaven); the atmosphere--
SONG 2:8
8 The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping
upon the hills.
7. For the saints by name--
JN 10:3
3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own
sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
8. And they will be changed in the twinkling of an eye--

49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of
the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of
God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be
changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet
shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal put on
immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall
have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is
written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
9. Rising with the resurrected dead--
1TH 4:13-18

15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying,
The kingdoms of this world are become of our Lord, and of his
Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
12. It is the trump of God--

the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise

13. And it will sound as THUNDER in the ears of a lost world--
JB 37:1-4
37 AT this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.
2 Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his
mouth.
3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the
earth.
4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and
he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
JN 12:28-30
28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I
have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered:
others said, An angel spake to him.
30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your
sakes.
14. This "call" will take place before the time of "Jacob's Trouble," as that
time will be characterized by the "EVERLASTING GOSPEL"--
RE 14:6
6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting
gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and
kindred, and tongue, and people,
15. For Gentiles, WHICH CERTAINLY IS NOT, NOR EVER HAS BEEN, THE GOSPEL OF THE
GRACE OF GOD PREACHED BY PAUL--and a system of faith and works for the Jew--
RE 12:17
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant
of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus
Christ.
RE 14:12
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here they that keep the commandments
of God, and the faith of Jesus.
RE 22:14
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the
tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
16. None of these Scriptures have anything to do with the Body of Christ or any
regenerated believer in this age.
17. To emphasize this basic difference in dispensations, the Apostle Paul
deliberately omits the term "Son of Man" from every one of his thirteen
epistles.
18. No Christian is waiting for the Son of Man described in Matthew 24 or--
RE 14:14
14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto
the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp
sickle.
19. All of the "quitters" read Matthew 24 into the Body of Christ and decided it
